When no-code is enough - and when it breaks
Use Zapier or Make to learn the flow. Own the path when money, retries and 2am failures start to matter.
Use no-code to learn the path
A founder should not wait for a custom service to find out whether CRM, billing and chat even need to talk. Zapier or Make is a cheap way to prove the sequence: signup, payment, ticket, alert.
The failure mode is silent drift
No-code breaks when a task retries twice, a field is renamed, a secret rotates, or two zaps write the same contact. You get duplicate charges, missing tickets and a board nobody trusts. There is rarely a log your engineer can read at 2am.
Own the revenue-critical events
Checkout, invoice paid, subscription failed, refund, payout - those events belong in your backend. Idempotent webhook handlers, a dead-letter queue and a mapping from Stripe customer to CRM deal are not optional once volume is real.
Keep no-code at the edges
Internal notifications, one-off exports and experiments can stay in Make. The contract Integrono writes is: source of truth per entity, owned webhooks on money paths, glue only where a failure is cheap.
